The Studio
Derin Klos is a European destination wedding and celebration studio built specifically for the diaspora bride: the Nigerian-British woman planning in Tuscany, the Indian-Australian bride choosing Portugal, the Ghanaian-American woman who wants every part of who she is present in France.
The studio plans full wedding weekends and milestone celebrations across Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Greece, Poland, and the UK, entirely from where you are, across every time zone, built around a diaspora bride's whole self, not a translation of her.
Founded by Derin; ex-finance, detail-obsessed, and a Nigerian-British diaspora bride herself. The studio exists because the planner who truly understood a diaspora bride’s whole self - and could deliver it, from a distance, in Europe - did not exist. So Derin became her.
Client Love
There is something extraordinary about watching someone you love operate at the height of their professional ability, and then getting to be the beneficiary of it. Derin is my partner. She is also, without question, the reason our wedding was everything we dreamt it could be and more things we had not thought to dream. We had forty guests from three countries, two cultures, and two languages. She found a venue where everyone stayed under one roof , which sounds simple until you understand what it took to find the right property, negotiate the terms, coordinate arrivals from Nigeria and the UK, manage transfers from the airport, and ensure that guests who spoke only Polish and guests who spoke only English never once felt on the outside of their own celebration.
The food was a fusion of both our cultures, present and equal across every meal. The DJ understood the rhythm of a Nigerian reception and a Polish one, which is not a small thing and was not easily found. Every vendor was chosen with intention. The florists, the photographers, the videographers, all of them understood the brief and delivered against it. The result was a weekend our guests have not stopped talking about. Two families who had never been in the same country found each other. A space that held two worlds felt, the entire time, like one.
I cannot recommend Derin enough, as a planner, and as the person who knew exactly what this weekend needed to be before I had the words for it myself.

My Approach
You know exactly the woman that you are. Your wedding should reflect you - your roots, your tastes, your values, your people - as one celebration, in Europe, from wherever you are in the world. That is what my studio is built for.
I work through four pillars to make sure it happens.
1. Venue Scouting Concierge
The prettiest venue in Tuscany means nothing if they won't let your chef through the door or shut the music down at ten. Before I recommend any venue, I assess what it actually allows; external caterers, noise permissions, late finishes, the real restrictions buried in the contract. Your guests will dance till midnight. Your food will be yours. I make sure the venue supports that before you fall in love with it.
2. Vendor Sourcing
The DJ who knows how a Haitian reception actually builds. The caterer in Puglia who will cook Biryani to standard, not to interpretation. The photographer who knows how to light dark skin at dusk. The make-up artist who will not leave you looking ashy. These vendors exist in Europe. Finding them is the work, and I have already done it.
3. Guest Experience
Your parents and guests are flying across continents to celebrate you in a country that is not theirs. They deserve to feel like honoured guests, not confused visitors. From travel and arrival flow to weekend structure, dining experiences, welcome moments, and thoughtful details, I design the full guest experience around your people; their comfort, their dietary needs, their dignity, so the people who matter most feel as held as you do.
4. Design and Detail
This is where your celebration becomes a living memory. Design decisions that have meaning. Every detail I curate - from the stationery to the table styling to the welcome moments - is specific to who you are. The goal is simple: your guests should walk away saying ‘this celebration is totally you’.
By the end, you are not just hosting a wedding. You are hosting a celebration your guests talk about long after they land back home.

Legal & Symbolic
Most of my couples don't legally marry in the country where they celebrate. They marry simply, wherever makes sense, then the European weekend is the wedding itself: the vows, the ceremony, total freedom of venue, without the red tape of foreign marriage law.
Distance Planning
Whether you're in Shanghai, Atlanta, London, Lagos or New York, I act as your local advocate on the ground; handling site visits, contract reviews, vendor negotiations and logistics so you can plan confidently without a single unnecessary flight. My response window is 24 hours across every time zone you are in.
